Ceiling Fan Receiver Frequency and Compatibility Basics
Two fan controls can use the same stated frequency and still be incompatible. Frequency is only the radio band; the transmitter and receiver must also share the protocol, coding or pairing method, feature commands, and documented electrical application.
Frequency is not the whole language
Think of frequency as the channel and protocol as the language spoken on it. A matching frequency does not prove that button commands, security or pairing codes, or receiver logic align.
| Layer | Compatibility requirement |
|---|---|
| Frequency | Same supported radio band |
| Protocol / coding | Same command format and pairing system |
| Functions | Receiver understands the required fan and light commands |
| Electrical application | Receiver is documented for the motor and loads |
Use model pairing as the primary evidence
Prefer documentation naming the transmitter and receiver pair or a complete kit intended for the fan. Do not choose a receiver from frequency text alone, and do not experiment with mains wiring to test a guess.
Avoid interference assumptions
Unexpected operation can involve setup, duplicate codes, wiring, or a failed component. Follow the manufacturer’s reset and pairing steps before replacing hardware, and use a qualified electrician for receiver access.

How this guide was prepared
Filter Fit separates compatibility evidence from purchase availability. Exact model identity, region, revision, and authoritative source scope are reviewed before a relationship is treated as verified.
