Shark HP100 vs. HP200 Series Filter Guide

Shark HP100- and HP200-series purifiers appear together in support material, but they use different official replacement-filter families. HP100-family records point to HE1FKBAS, while HP200-family records point to HE2FKBAS. A listing that says Shark Air Purifier HEPA without the HE1 or HE2 relationship is not specific enough.

1. Where to find the model number on the device label

Shark directs owners to check the back or bottom of the main unit for the rating label and to find the model number near the barcode. Copy the full code, including retailer or color suffixes, and keep a photo of the barcode area.

Common family codes include HP100, HP102, and other HP1xx variants, or HP200, HP201, HP202, and HP230-series variants. Use the support list to normalize a suffix only after capturing it exactly.

2. Similar models that are not compatible

Shark’s HE1FKBAS record covers supported HP100-family and related HE1 models. HE2FKBAS is the larger HP200/MAX family record. FilterFit does not substitute HE1 for HE2 or carry either recommendation into current NeverChange HP150, HP300, or BreatheClear families.

The shared HP prefix describes a broad purifier catalog, not one universal filter. Even adjacent numbers can belong to different generations, so verify the exact SKU against the current official parts or support page.

3. Filter components and required quantity

HE1FKBAS and HE2FKBAS are each one integrated replacement filter installed one at a time in the matching purifier. Shark describes NANOSEAL True HEPA filtration with carbon odor protection in the assembly; this is not a system requiring several separate HEPA cartridges.

A marketplace two-pack represents two replacement cycles. Before comparing cost, confirm whether the listing includes complete integrated filters or thin accessory pre-filter pieces only.

4. OEM and aftermarket buying cautions

For OEM purchases, match both the purifier model list and the HE1FKBAS or HE2FKBAS part code. Shark’s general parts catalog provides label-location guidance, but the selected filter page should supply the actual fitment evidence.

For aftermarket options, require the maker to name the exact model and corresponding HE family. Compare frame size, seal, handle or pull features, carbon construction, pack count, and return policy. Retail-channel aliases deserve an exact suffix check rather than an assumption based on HP1 or HP2 alone.

5. Common model-specific confusion

HP100 and HP200 appear together in a Shark FAQ, which can be misread as shared-filter evidence. The FAQ groups support topics; the official parts pages separate HE1 and HE2 replacements. Support grouping and filter compatibility are different relationships.

HE1 and HE2 can also be mistaken for filtration grades. In this context they are part-family identifiers. Do not assume HE2 is an optional performance upgrade for an HE1 purifier.

6. Official-source check date and change history

Official US sources checked September 1, 2026: Shark’s HP100/HP200 FAQ, air-purifier parts catalog, HE1FKBAS page, and HE2FKBAS page.

Change log: September 1, 2026 — initial publication; documented HE1 versus HE2 family separation and the official back-or-bottom label location. New retail suffixes will be added only when Shark connects them to an exact filter family.

How this guide was prepared

Filter Fit separates compatibility evidence from purchase availability. Exact model identity, region, revision, and authoritative source scope are reviewed before a relationship is treated as verified.
