Coway Mighty AP-1512HH vs. Mighty2 AP-1512N Filter Guide

Coway’s original Airmega Mighty and the newer Mighty2 share a family name but not a filter record. The older AP-1512HH is officially grouped with the Airmega 200M, while the Mighty2 is labeled AP-1512N and has a dedicated Max2 filter. The letter at the end of the model code is therefore a purchase-critical detail.

1. Where to find the model number on the device label

Turn the purifier off, unplug it, and inspect the product-information label on the rear or underside of the cabinet. Look for AP-1512HH, AP-1512N, or the Airmega 200M code AP-1518R. Photograph the whole label so the model line and regional electrical information remain together.

Do not rely on the word Mighty printed on a store receipt. Mighty is a product-family name used across generations; the exact AP code separates the older model from Mighty2.

2. Similar models that are not compatible

Coway’s official store has one filter-set page for Airmega Mighty AP-1512HH and Airmega 200M, and a separate Max2 filter page for Mighty2 AP-1512N. FilterFit treats the Mighty2 filter as not interchangeable with the older AP-1512HH/200M set because Coway separates both the model codes and replacement products.

Airmega MightyS AP-1512HHS is another close name with its own official filter-set page. Do not drop the final S or assume that a listing covering AP-1512HH also covers AP-1512HHS.

3. Filter components and required quantity

The official AP-1512HH/200M replacement set contains one Green True HEPA filter and two deodorization filters. The washable mesh pre-filter is maintained and reused; it is not the same item as the two disposable deodorization sheets in the replacement set.

Mighty2 AP-1512N uses a washable slide-out pre-filter plus one Max2 assembly that combines activated-carbon and HEPA filtration. Buy one correct Max2 replacement per purifier unless the package is explicitly sold as a multi-pack.

4. OEM and aftermarket buying cautions

For OEM stock, match the full AP model code and inspect the package contents. Coway has exposed multiple part-number aliases for the older AP-1512HH/200M set, so the official compatible-model statement and components are more reliable than choosing one isolated number from an old listing.

For aftermarket options, verify whether the seller includes one HEPA plus two deodorization filters for the older model. A HEPA-only kit may physically fit yet leave required odor filters unaddressed. For Mighty2, reject any listing that uses only Mighty in the title without explicitly naming AP-1512N.

5. Common model-specific confusion

AP-1512HH and AP-1512N differ by only two letters after the same numeric stem, making transcription mistakes easy. Airmega 200M can also appear under AP-1518R, which looks unrelated even though Coway officially groups it with AP-1512HH.

A second confusion is calling every dark sheet a pre-filter. On the older Mighty, the washable pre-filter and disposable deodorization filters have different maintenance roles. Count and name the components before comparing a replacement kit.

6. Official-source check date and change history

Official US sources checked September 1, 2026: Coway’s AP-1512HH/200M Filter Set page, Mighty2 AP-1512N product and replacement-filter pages, Mighty product page, and product-manual index.

Change log: September 1, 2026 — initial publication; recorded the separate Mighty2 generation and preserved the older set’s multiple official part-number aliases. Any future Coway supersession notice should be added as a dated entry rather than silently replacing these identifiers.

How this guide was prepared

Filter Fit separates compatibility evidence from purchase availability. Exact model identity, region, revision, and authoritative source scope are reviewed before a relationship is treated as verified.
